Can children drink Ketone 2.0?

Updated 1 month ago by Taylor

As with any nutrition strategy, we encourage you to ask a health professional before making changes to your or your family’s diets.

We are born with the ability to produce and metabolize ketones, and ketone production and metabolism are natural for all ages. Even healthy newborns, consuming fat-rich breastmilk as an energy source, have blood BHB levels in the 0.5-2 millimolar range. We see no reason why children should not be able to consume the appropriate dose of BHB-containing beverages safely under the careful supervision of their parents, health professionals, nutritionists, and coaches (when applicable). With children 12 and under, a health professional should always be consulted.

Each 35ml serving of H.V.M.N. Ketone 2.0 contains 10g of Ketone-IQ™️. Depending on your body weight and use cases, however, we recommend you adjust your dosing accordingly. Just as we recommend that adults with above-average body mass (like bodybuilders) or above-average activity levels (marathoners on race day, etc.) adjust their dosing upwards accordingly, we also recommend that parents adjust any dose given to their children downwards accordingly.

If taking Ketone 2.0 is a strategy desired and approved by the child’s parents, health professionals, nutritionists, and coaches (when applicable), we’d recommend starting with the following approximate dose adjustments:

50 lbs

1/3 serving

75 lbs

1/2 serving

100 lbs

2/3 serving
